Garinger High School, Charlotte North Carolina

Each year the Garinger Education Foundation (GEF) works to fulfill our primary mission by offering Garinger High School graduates multiple scholarships to pursue post-secondary education at 2-year and 4-year colleges/universities and other accredited schools. Our programs are structured to help each year’s new crop of Garinger grads as well as those from earlier years who are still working to earn their college degrees. In partnership with the Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), GEF offers a joint scholarship program for Garinger graduates attending CPCC.

Garinger Education Foundation Named Scholarships

The Garinger Education Foundation provides the opportunity to honor or memorialize someone with a scholarship named for them. Based on academic achievement criteria, GEF Scholars can renew these scholarships for 3 years after the initial award year.  If you are interested in creating a named scholarship or naming and funding an existing, please contact us at info@garingereducationfoundation.org .

Garinger Education Foundation Wildcat Scholarships

The Garinger Education Foundation also offers Wildcat scholarships that can be used at any 2- or 4-year college or university.

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) + GEF Joint Scholarship Program (JSP)

In partnership with CPCC, GEF offers a joint scholarship program for Garinger graduates. Any student who graduates from Garinger and attends CPCC is eligible to receive this scholarship if they meet the requirements. Garinger graduates who 1) have completed a minimum of 6 hours at CPCC, 2) are registered for a minimum of 6 hours for the next semester, and 3) have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 automatically qualify for $250/semester from GEF. If their cumulative GPA is 2.5 or higher, the CPCC Foundation matches the GEF contribution for another $250/semester. The JSP starts many Garinger graduates down the path to an affordable, excellent college education.

Garinger Education Foundation Wildcat Transfer Scholarships

Some Garinger graduates attending CPCC take the next step up the educational ladder to earn a 4-year degree after earning an associate degree or professional certification or accruing reasonably priced credit toward their major. For these Garinger graduates, GEF offers transfer scholarships of $2000/year for 2-3 years. The number of transfer scholarships offered each year may vary. Candidates should complete a GEF Wildcat Transfer Scholarship Application and have been accepted at a college in the University of North Carolina university system
